  Similes in real life situations A simile is a figure of speech that compares two different things using the words "like" or "as" to highlight a shared quality or characteristic.   A simile makes a comparison using "like" or "as". Examples of Similes: 1. "As brave as a lion" – compares someone’s bravery to that of a lion. 2. "He runs like the wind" – compares the speed of running to the wind. 3.
