A simile is a figure of speech that compares two different things using the words "like" or "as" to highlight a shared quality or characteristic.

 A simile makes a comparison using "like" or "as".

Examples of Similes:

1. "As brave as a lion" – compares someone’s bravery to that of a lion.

2. "He runs like the wind" – compares the speed of running to the wind.

3. "Her smile is like sunshine" – compares a smile to the warmth or brightness of sunshine.

Purpose of Similes is to create vivid imagery,making descriptions more expressive or relatable, and even to enhance storytelling or poetry

Dialogue 

Title: After the Busy School Day

Aisha: Hey, Kevin! You look as tired as an ox. What happened today?

Kevin: Oh, Aisha, I had to help my teacher carry books and clean the classroom. I’ve been as busy as an ant since morning!

Aisha: (laughs) You’re always helping everyone. You’re as strong as a horse, no wonder the teacher trusts you.

Kevin: Thanks! But you were as swift as a deer during the race today. I couldn’t even catch up!

Aisha: (smiling) Yeah, I felt as happy as a lark when I won. But I think you ran well too.

Kevin: Maybe next time! Anyway, after all that, I’m as hungry as a wolf. Let’s go eat something.

Aisha: Good idea! But remember, eat slowly, not as fast as a hare!
